ABOUT THE ARTIST

A Return to the Art that Started It All

Art was my first language. From the moment I could hold a pencil, I found myself studying light, drawing shapes, and capturing the world around me. In junior high and high school, I was consistently recognized at the top of my class for fine art — so much so that it became my original major heading into college. I fully expected art would be the path I followed.

But life, practicality, and opportunity have a way of redirecting us.

I shifted my studies to accounting and earned my CPA, which ultimately opened the door to an entirely different future. That shift led me to create and lead a women-owned electronics manufacturing company — a venture that grew into a world-class operation serving aerospace and defense customers. For more than two decades, I built systems, processes, teams, and solutions. The work demanded precision, discipline, and vision — qualities that, in hindsight, had always been there since the days I stood in art classrooms with charcoal-stained fingers.

Yet creativity has many forms, and one very influential in my life has been music.

I’ve played piano since second grade, drawn to Beethoven’s depth and, more recently, the soulful voice of Adele. Music has always been a guiding influence, each note and pattern speaking to me like a story alive with color, drama, and emotion. Learning to read and play transformed the way I think, attuning me to patterns, rhythm, and the subtle interplay of logic and intuition — skills that carried me through my business career. Today, that same energy flows through my paintings, carrying rhythm, movement, and the emotional pulse that has inspired me since childhood.

Through every chapter of my life, art and music were the constants — the quiet spaces where I felt most connected and most myself.

After fully retiring in 2023, I finally returned to the passion I had set aside. Today, I am joyfully committed full-time to painting, both oil and acrylics and plein-air work. I’m inspired by landscapes, architecture, people and natural light, and the quiet beauty found in simple spaces. Whether it’s the cool shadow on a stairway or the warmth of sunlit adobe, I try to capture moments that feel both fleeting and timeless.

My business life taught me precision, leadership, and vision. My music taught me rhythm, emotion, and connection. My art life teaches me presence, gratitude, and wonder.

This chapter isn’t a reinvention - it’s a homecoming - a return to the creative voice that has been with me from the very beginning.
